The Angler
The fact that there are no decent fish in the Mediterranean is a myth. Although we are governed by different fishing seasons, it has not stopped the fishermen of Cyprus from fishing for many generations.
Due to the limited income made by professional fishermen the numbers are now decreasing, however, Elias, a professional fisherman of over 30 years turned his talents to tourist fishing. Twenty years on he can still offer you a range of fishing for professional, amateur, young and old alike.
Licensed in accordance with current E.U. regulations, his boat “The Angler” can be found in Paphos Harbour. Elias offers year round fishing, varying subject to different fishing seasons and of course weather permitting!!!
Here follows a list of the fishing trips provided.
DEEP SEA FISHING (All Year)
Also known as “Pleasure Fishing”. Fishing in waters of approximately 150 ft deep, about 20 min outside Paphos Harbour. Here you fish for smaller fish, aiming for Bream, Snapper, Rainbow Rass and Perch. Each person has their own rod and one on one assistance is provided when required. An excellent trip for every age and talent.
Daily - 10.00am - 1.00pm or 2.00pm-5.00pm
Price - £15 for fishing, £10 for spectators
SHARK FISHING (All Year)
This is an amazing experience. Elias is the only current known fisherman to do this kind of fishing. It is not possible to fish with rods for this kind of shark as they can be found between 1,500 and 2,000 ft deep These are caught on long lines, which is set the evening before the trip. The following day, you retrieve the line and fish. You are guaranteed to see bigger fish. On the line, as well as shark you may catch Conga Eel, Grouper, Skate, Cod, Scorpion Fish, Spurdog and many more. This trip is a one off experience and brings back many people time after time.

TUNA FISHING May-August
During the Tuna Season these fish are found in local waters in abundance. Varying 10lb-45lb this is exhilarating fishing where you work for your fish! You troll for these fish in deeper waters and get to enjoy the respite from the heat of the land and some amazing sunsets. (This trip is not recommended for young children).
Daily - 4.30pm-9.00pm
Price - £25 for fishing, £15 for spectators.
DORADO, BARRACUDA, BONITO FISHING (August-December)
This trip works much in the same way as the Tuna Fishing. Instead of having the chance of catching one type of fish, you have a choice of three! Unlike Tuna Fishing it is recommended for all ages due to the fact that you are fishing closer to land and the trip is much shorter.
Daily - 4.30pm-8.00pm
Price - £20 for fishing, £10 for spectators.
